Your worth was never a networking event.
Who knows who? Who is connected to whom? Who gets invited? Who is in? Who has access?
And at what point did all of this become a very subtle way of measuring ourselves?
We’ve created these invisible little circles around people, places, opportunities and access, and somehow being “in” one of them can start feeling like a badge of honour.
And social media?
Well… social media has certainly made this game more entertaining.
The dinners.
The events.
The beautiful tables.
The people who seem to know everyone.
The people who are always somewhere fabulous with someone fabulous.
And then, somewhere between the scrolling and the comparing, a tiny little question appears…
“So… which club am I trying to get into?”
Maybe this is one of those Self Love & Other Detours where we pause and look at the whole thing a little differently. Because there is something very interesting about the way we relate to circles, access, influence and belonging.
And perhaps there is more to your own circle of influence than you've been giving it credit for.
